of a steam generator iron?

This is a Tefal Steam Generator iron and it has a non-stick sole plate that does! Stick - that is! Any ideas on how to clean it without further damage to the non-stick (!) surface?

When we moved into our apartment, there were these stains on the floor in the bathroom, like drops of a pinkish color. Looks almost like old hair dye but it could be anything and its been there for years. Does anyone know ANY way to get rid of these stains?

Seems hard to believe that an alternative carpet cleaning solution which is cheaper isn't on the market. Has anyone used an alternative carpet cleaner in their Bissell Shampooer that is cheaper and workable?

I want to plant a privacy hedge on both sides of my property but I want one that looks nice with no trimming. I'd like a non-flowering one too so I don't have to walk on my neighbors' properties to do clean-up of spent flowers. I saw a picture of Canadian Hemlock and it looks nice untrimmed. Any other suggestions?

I am renovating my bathroom and doing most of the work myself apart from the electrics as I am not qualified and a tad scarred...My electrician is lovely but has strange ideas.
He tells me that 4 downlights are okay for a 6 sq meter ceiling. I am dubious - would at least double that.
What are the thumb rules?
Is there a book/website explaining how many lights would be best?
How would it be best to place them?
So may questions...
Any help would be appreciated.
