When we moved into our apartment, there were these stains on the floor in the bathroom, like drops of a pinkish color. Looks almost like old hair dye but it could be anything and its been there for years. Does anyone know ANY way to get rid of these stains?

Sounds like some chemical reaction between the vinyl and some other substance.

Chances of removing are slim to none.

You might want to try a product called "Folex". We use it to clean up spots on the carpet, floors, auto interior, etc. It's reasonably environmentally friendly - e.g. non-toxic - and you can get it at the grocery (we purchase ours at Safeway). Even though it says it's for carpet, upholstery, etc - we use it on almost all spots on tile, window frames, etc...

If that doesn't work, there's a less environmentally-friendly, chemically based product called "M-1 Spot Remover" M-1 is pretty rock-star when it comes to stains - but can, sometimes, alter the finish of a fine surface - like a car's paint. I used it to get old stains off linoleum in my previous residence before I sold it. It worked well - but I spot tested it on a little area under my refridgerator prior to doing areas in the middle of the floor.

Hope this helps!
