Advise please on the best way of cleaning the sole plate?

of a steam generator iron?

This is a Tefal Steam Generator iron and it has a non-stick sole plate that does! Stick - that is! Any ideas on how to clean it without further damage to the non-stick (!) surface?

Try pouring some Club Soda on an old Terrycloth towel and then, with the iron on the highest setting, iron the towel. Club soda is great for removing stuck on stuff and the texture of the towel will kind of "scrub" it.
