My showers instructions say use a 6mm cable, which i have installed, and been using. But i have had frequent problems with the switch (pull cord) breaking (ive replaced it three times) and the wires over heating and creating a really bad odour. The ends of the wires insulation has melted etc, and i've reterminated them and it has happened again. Can i / should i use a slightly bigger cable? The run is only about 10 metres, free standing (not in conduit) in a loft cavity. and the shower has its own dedicated consumer unit

I'm looking for a strip of tin/aluminium (??) that bends when squeezed on either end but then returns back to its original shape.
Is this something that can be bought to make sunglasses cases?

I've just brought a kitchen sink from B&Q, but it does not have a hole in for the Tap ?
Am i supposed to cut the hole myself, or does this mean the tap has to go behind the sink in the worktop ?

There are bushy areas beside my garden full of snails which come every night and eat anything I plant, I mean anything. I am so fed up!! There are too many to bother with traps, dishes of beer etc. But I finally want to use my garden!!! Just a few flowers and veggies, so the kids can enjoy using it too.
People keep telling me to use poison, which I avoided until now. I thought it might hurt the birds which may eat them, but now I´ve been told this isn´t true ( and that a dying snail shrinks back into his shell anyway, which makes sense). I´ve also been told that this poison is NOT toxic, and doesn´t hurt anything else, plants or animals. Or my kids, of course. Now I´m ready to use a few boxes and just get rid of them. Have I been wrongly informed?
(PS I live in Germany, so maybe there are different poisons here than in N. America).

geraniums have the same light requirements, specifically nutmeg & chocolate mint? Do they need more light? I've read that scented geraniums need less water than begonias.

does it last, or is it a weaker type of cement only good for small projects?

I need to build a 3 tier concrete stepladder type object, that will be subjected to 105 degree summers and 30 degree winters.
Should I go with concrete or will the quikcrete hold up?

I need a new mattress, and I'm interested in getting one made of memory foam. I would get a Tempur-Pedic except that they're on the...erm....rather expensive side. I found Bragada's website and have looked through their products, and I'm thinking of getting the Vienna mattress.

I have a slight concern with their lack of having a return policy, and since the mattresses come directly from the factory, there is no way to test them out. I was wondering what anyone who either has one or knows someone who has one thinks of Bragada mattresses (if you have [heard of] the Vienna, or ones similar to it (if they have edge-support preferably) I would especially like to hear everything you know about it).

I'm hoping that if I get one it will be a worthwhile investment, so the more details you can provide the better.

Getting nowhere fast here. I have a GE fridge (not new but looks pretty new). When I open the fridge door (fridge is running) I hear a loud gurling noise in the back. This happens everytime I open the door for a little bit and the fridge is running.

I'm growing some marigolds and now the stems have turned red and are hardly standing. The leaves are darker green than they were and curling under. I read that this could be a sign of light or water stress, but that's the problem; I don't know if it's a water problem or a light problem. Any help is appreciated. If all my flowers die, I won't have any to put in my flower beds!

My unit is a split unti that's pretty old but the freon is freshly charged and the AC repairman has looked at it several times. Even when it's off, it seems to blow hot air. The thermostat is digital and is about 8 months old. This just started happening about a week ago though we've had numerous problems with the AC. Any help would be appreciated and please don't respond with "Buy a new AC".

I have a sapling Giant Seqouia and a sapling Coast Redwood I have had for a few months now. They are turning brown on the tips and on certain arms.. : ( I have them in 3 gallon buckets which can drain, with good potting soil.

At first I had them inside my apartment and seemed like they were doing fine, but then my friend told me it would be best to simulate their natural environment, so I moved them outside to partial shade under another tree.

I live in Northern California where Redwoods grow naturally. Haven't watered them much as it rains once every week or two.

What should I do to help them out???
