if the room is 12x20 you will need 240 sq ft
or 26.67 square yards.
if buying by lineal ft, you would have to provide room dimensions.
With hardwood, I'm pretty sure you have to buy 5% extra for cut offs (scrap).

15x16 would also be 240 sqft. So you should get:

240 sqft + 10% = 264 sqft then you can round down to 260sqft.
