Our diswasher quit draining. It didn't appear to be gradual. I tried blowing out the hose that leads to the garbage disposal. Is there a pump that drains the water? Or possibly a clog inside somewhere? Any serious answers would be greatly appreciated!

I remember an ad on TV years ago about a gel paint that wouldn't drip, and it seemed really smart because painting is SO messy

I inadvertantly left the a pan of grease on the stove, and it caught fire. The house is fine, the kids and I have cleared the smoke by opening windows and turning on fans, but the stench is acrid and horrible.

I've tried Febreeze, but still our eyes are burning. Any suggestions?

I don't drive, I cannot get to the store, and we have nowhere else to go.

I need ideas on how to clear this using products I have around the house. Thanks.

Been having a slight mouse problem and am getting a bit fed up removing tiny little carcasses from the traps.

Keep seeing these electronic things that you plug in (they supposedly disourage the little blighters from coming into your house.

But do they actually work? And are they worth the 30-odd quid?

A visiting child had a mishap in the car about eight weeks ago. I did the decent thing and soaked the seat, used a disinfectant etc, but now that the weather is getting hot each time I get in the car, the distinct aroma of wee is there to greet me.

Has any body any ideas how to get rid of this smell?

It is so embarassing, I dont want any one else to get into the car at the moment!

Our neighbour has attacked a hedge which we believe is in our land. Her nephew states that the boundary is hers - our land registry docs clearly show that the disputed area is in our boundary, and I am being asked to fork out up to £1k to have a surveyor draw up a survey plan. Land registry boundaries have a tolerance of +/- 1m apparently, and her plot is not registered. What do I need to do to convince him that what is mine, IS MINE? (Apart from shaking him gently by the throat!)
Any advice is welcome please.

He's 3 about 35lbs now, not sure if that matters, so just a little guy. Plan to use though for maybe 10 years. Looking for a "good" brand and wondering whats a typical price on a mattress and box spring. See them advertised all across the board. We'd like a full since we'd sit on it too to read books at night, and have plenty of space in the room.

Hi all,
I just moved and the washing machine that the seller left me is not working right (there is very little water flow). It's not the washer, we tried with our old washer. So I had a plumber look at it and he says my pipes are not connected right and that it is not up to code. The pipes are also connected to a small unpermitted bathroom and he says that is one of the reasons why it isn't working (supposed to go thru the wall). Question is: can I fix this myself? And how? The plumber is asking for at least $600 and I don't have any money; the insurance won't cover it either because it is something that was done by the seller.
Also, do you know how much it would cost to re-pipe a small house? The plumber also said that my pipes are galvanized and we would need copper plumbing so there are no calcium deposits. I don't know if he just wants to take advantage of my ignorance. He quoted me about $4300 (that would include the piping problem with the washer). The house is about 900 sqft

We purchased this costly thing in hopes of the never ending hot water (which it does in fact do) however, we vented it thru the existing vent from the old 50 gallon tank which bends and exits thru the side of our house. If anything else is used (i.e the sink, dishwasher) the tankless pilot goes out. My husband thinks it's because it needs vented out thru the roof for better air circulation, what tips do you all have?
This thing is a god send, and was extremely pricey so we don't want to have to admit we went WAY abouve our means by installing it ourself so if this is a quick fix we want to try it before admitting defeat. Serious responses only.
Thanks...

I'm installing some new interior doors and need to chisel the area out where the hinges will go. i'm doing a very, very poor job and getting frustrated. the doors i pull off have perfect chiseled out areas. is there a way to do this with a saw or sander or something? please remember this is my first time doing this. my husband does have an array of power tools at home, so i'm sure i'd have anything else that could be used. (he's currently out to sea or he'd have been suckered into this job!)
