I'm buying a new (self propelled) push mower and see that some now start with a key rather than a pull rope.

Have you ever owned a mower like this? Any reviews? Is the key start reliable?

I have erected a trellis fence so as not to look at my neighbours
unsightly garden.
Can anyone suggest climbing plants that will give flowers in the summer with foliage all through the winter.

I live in Quebec. Our foyer has a door to the garage (steel, sealed, auto-closing), and also another interior door to the rest of the home. I other words, there is a door between the interior garage door and the rest of the house. I want to remove this door to open up the foyer.

Does anybody know if this second door is required by code? I don't think it is, provided that the interior door accessing the garage is to code, but it would be nice to know for sure. I can't find the relevant code information online. I will probably end up calling a code official but thought I'd try here anyway!

I have a large backyard and is has numerous plants, tress, and flowers except one spot. There is one area in the corner of my yard that is approximately 6ft x 4ft and no matter what I plant there, it dies. Could the soil be bad in only that spot or I am missing some thing? What can I do to make the soil fertile, if that is what is needed?

I was growing beans, cucumbers and tomatoes in dixie cups and pots in my kitchen. When they started to attract ants I moved the pots and dixie cups outside. Due to my heavy school and work schedule I don't always get a chance to water them. I'm lucky if I get to water them every other day. Because I live in California the water sometimes dries up very quickly by the afternoon. When I went to go water them this morning some of my tomatoes appeared to wilt. I had watered them 2 days earlier. How long can plants last without water?

I am replacing a wall heat register in an old rowhome. When I remove the existing register, do I just pop the new one on? Or do I attach it to the duct that is behind it pushing out the hot air? Old city row home. Thanks.

Hypothetically, how would I get rid of a large amount of blood on the walls, floor and ceiling ?
The floor is carpeted, and the walls and ceiling are papered and painted an off-white colour.
For the sake of argument, imagine I have to completely remove every tiny trace as I'm a very tidy person.

Last month I purchased a home in the country. This month a water inspector told me the leach bed had caused me to fail the inspection. The house had been inspected before I bought it. Is this going to fall entirely on me or is this something I should bring to my lawyers attention?

My lawn, front and back total comes to less than one acre, say between one half and one third an acre. Do I really need a seed-spreader or would it be just as effective to walk around with the bag while throwing out the seed with my hand?

Thank you!

We just bought a house, the ceiling paint in the kitchen is cracked and peeling. I have been scraping it for two days but still have a lot of scraping left. Is there a product similar to zip strip that I could put on the ceiling to remove the paint and make the scraping easier? I don't want to ruin the sheet rock.

Like if I wanted one to come every day and sweep, vacum, mop, do a load of laundry, load the dishwasher, make the beds, and wipe everything down, how much would that run per week? I know it can vary but I just need a general idea. THanks!
