I know this sounds a bit strange, but I would rather relocate them outside than destroy them. So far, I've been removing them (cockroaches) one by one using a glass and cover...are there some more efficient ways to relocate them?

I am plumbing an addition to my house and would like to know the advantages/disadvantages of putting copper in the walls vs. pex. We are doing the rest with pex.

We're thinking of buying a new BBQ and we don't know which is best natural gas or propane.

We already have a line on the outside for natural gas. Just trying to figure out which cooks better.

I have a gas water heater (Reliance 606). It was put in just before we moved into the house, so it is about 2 years old. Within the last couple weeks, it has started making a noise. The best I can describe it, is similar to the clanging sound you sometimes hear from a hot water heat radiator. From what I can tell, it usually happens when the water heater is heating. Any ideas what this is? Should I do anything with it?

A friend of mine says that she can hear what she says sounds like light or socket switches flicking on and off in the middle of the night. Her eldest son says that he's heard it too.

I'm convinced that it's something to do with the electrics, but am at a loss as to explain it.

She can't say for sure that it doesn't happen during the day, but she hasn't noticed it.

Does anyone have any idea what this mightbe because it's driving her nuts.

We aren't trying to make a statement with the carpet, just want something basic. We will be living in the house a few years so it has to hold up. I can't think of any obvious reason for lots of stains (like untrained pets in the house), but our mid-priced carpet looks worse from stains than from wear. No pets, babies, or special demands on the carpet. Recommendations of any sort appreciated.

Thanks,
Houyhnhnm

I have a gas hot water heater that is on the inside of a duplex unit & it is 18 years old. Do you have to bring it up to code or can you get a handy man to install it like it is? I had a plumber come out & to bring it up to code, the pipe would have to run through the small bedroom wall closet to bring it outside the unit. They said they could run it at the bottom along the back wall. I just can not see doing this in a rental unit where there will be kids in the future from other renters. To me this is dangerous to run a hot water pipe along the back wall of a closet on the floor next to the carpet. Plus the fact that it will get knocked around by items & small kids being in a closet at the floor level.

We moved to a house recently that has wood like logs all around the border of the house and fence as landscaping. I went to lift it up and tidy things up, well, low and behold, the wood is full of termites...big ones, babies etc...thousands it seems. Will these termites stay in that wood and away from the house or will then eventually venture up to the house? Would it be better to remove and rid the wood or is it okay to leave the wood? If I remove the wood, will the left overs go for the house or go with the wood? If I call the termite guy, will all the termites go away or burrow somewhere until it's safe to come back out? I've never experienced termites so, this is all new. Thanks in advance for the help!!

The FDA is proposing allowing Big Candy Makers to Market what is now FAKE CHOCOLATE as the Real Thing. Their Big Lobby Groups want to allow the use of cheap vegetable fat and other cheap ingredents to replace Cocoa Butter and Milk in Chocolate and label it is 100%Real Chocolate.

The only way to fix this is to Speak up!! I URGE you to visit DON'T MESS WITH MY CHOCOLATE web site and use their link to the FDA and voice your DECENT!!

Big Candy is trying to pull the wool over our eyes and increase their profits with cheap imatation chocolate to be maketed the same as real chocolate. Let's not let them get away with it. Use your voice and please speak up
