Months. I had a giant one a few years back, kept it by the fireplace until late April when my wife made me toss it--it had developed a slight soft spot, so outside it quickly broke down. Did save the seeds, my wife used them for school activities.

The answer absolutely depends on the condition, size, and storage of the pumpkin. A pumpkin will not rot if frozen, or it will rot very quickly if it is exposed to bacteria and larvae, especially if it's been carved. Usually a carved pumpkin will rot or begin to rot within a week. A non-carved pumpkin can last a few months.
