If you are insistant on goin with an Gas Grill, then Propane does burn much cleaner, Nat. Gas is OK, but I personally prefer to use Charcoal and or Wood. Being you have Nat. Gas outside, then this would be probably your cheaper solution in the long run, however it will cost you more to purchase than a Propane or an Good Ol' Fashion Charcoal Grill.

Propane cooks hotter, however if you have the natural gas line already installed GO with the natural gas. You will not have to worry about running out of propane.
Buy a good grill and get one with wide grates that will sear properly and leave those nice grill marks.

After many years of having the priviledge to say that I have dined, sumptuously, over charcoal, wood, animal excretion AND gas. I find no difference, between propane and natural gas. There are, however, methods of cooking with either one to obtain the aroma and richness of charcoaled flavor. Please don't accept any one answer, because all tastes are different.
If you have natural gas, already, use it you CAN find a way to make it like YOU WANT IT. Be brave, get after it, it's all yours.

Niether. Get a charcoal BBQ. Weber makes great ones that could last you 15 years if well taken care of. Food tastes much better from a Charcoal BBQ!! Not to mention, they are cheaper!!!!! Good luck!

Both gases essentially cook in the same manner, their elements are the only things that differ. Most often Natural gas is the least expensive method, and that applies to use in the home as well. BTW, "Cooking Better" has a lot do do with maintenance of the grille, not only the cooking mediums.
Obviously propane is the portable alternative for those not having access to a natural Gas line, and Purists will always tell you charcoal has a lot to do with not only the flavor of the food, but the ambience of the entire experience. I often use Oak branches, and the food still tastes like food, in a reasonable amount of time.
If I was in your grilling apron, I'd likely choose what already exists.

I'd use whatever is most readily available in your area. NG is not available in many places around here so for me propane is the answer

NATURAL GAS... it's so much easier... no refilling... and cooks great... but if you havent done it, you have to change out the orifice... they are different sizes...
