Am I responsable for the city's final inspection of a roofing project done by the previous owners?

The city is saying that my roof needs to be inspected because of a previous job done by the poeple who owned the house before me. Am I responsable for pay for another inspection?

Since it needs inspected, I have to assume that a permit was pulled. The permit would be in the previous owners name and they should be responsible for it. This should have been in the paperwork when you bought the house. It falls under disclosure. The city may be able to force the inspection and cost but you should be able to get reimbursed by the previous owner. This may involve legal action though.
