Choose a word or object that means a lot to you or your family. Then choose a foreign language. Name your home that. It sounds so exotic but at the same time it still means something special to you.

Where is your home? Is there a place that you visit regularly that is special to you? Do you have a favorite flower? Any one of these things can be used to create a name for your home.

We live in a small vacation town, some of the homes here are very unique: Winmiir, Northern Exposure, Sias farm, Flag Gate Farm, Canopache Ridge, anything is possible.

An understanding of where the house is, or what's on the land around it might help us.

For example, is it surrounded by oak trees? If so, you could call it Oakland, or Thousand Oaks. Is it next to a lake or a river? If so, you might call it Millpond Lodge.

How about Casa Hermina?

I would suggest you use a name from ancient Greek or Roman mythology. First, it always give a house prominence, and second people will remember the name even after awhile.

The name you select would depend on the architecture of the home. If it is a cottage, and the garden has roses, "Rose Cottage", if it is a larger modern type of home you could call it "(your surname) Manor". If there is any history to your area you could link the name with that also. The type of garden you have could also have a link to it, "Pine Place" etc etc.
Another idea would be to associate the feeling of the owners, "Welcome Inn" or "Sit a While" or Happy Hideout" etc etc.
