say to save some space, i decide to build my lands on top of each other. for example, building a 4 level building, and for each level i grow plants on it using Artificial light instead of the sun light.

example:
instead of this ------- ------- ------- -------

it will be inside a building on top of each other such as this:
-------
-------
-------
-------

Interesting, But I would have put the plants on the top floor with massive skylights.

As someone else said, artificial light would be cost prohibitive.

You could have a living area on the second or third floor.
A garage and utility on the first .

I live near Plant city Florida which is a major strawberry growing area.

One farmer there began last year vertical planting. He now has as many strawberry plants on about 1/2 acre as he would have had on about 2 + acres.

They grown out of the holes in something like a large size PVC pipe.

Just some thoughts!!

Cool Idea! But the cost is gonna be something. Use skylights, glass floors and windows on each floor so some of the natural light can come in to cut cost. Also one other suggestions solar panel to help with the lighting so so you don't get a monthly bill. I have see where building have used solar panel for roofing and paneling etc.No t much sun go wind power if possible, if all else fail look into hydro power. I live off grid and use solar. If i was grid connected i could sell excess power back,or get a lower bill. Most states have rebates up 65% back. New York Has a rebate of 50 to 75% rebate. They will send it right to your installer if you wish or in your wallet when done and said

It can be done, but costs would be prohibitive.
