I have erected a trellis fence so as not to look at my neighbours
unsightly garden.
Can anyone suggest climbing plants that will give flowers in the summer with foliage all through the winter.

It will depend on your climate. If it is rather mild, you might try a solanum jasminoïde. It flowers into November for me. I cut it back in the spring and then it takes off again, covering the wall.

I put a privet hedge in my yard - grows about 3 feet a year. More width than a trellis mind you. But it is year round block your view. Does not drop its leaves. Flowers with small white bunches of flowers smaller than lilac, but same shape.

Bought 50 off the ebay and spaced about 14 - 18 inches apart. they looked like pencils first year. Like small 1 foot square blocks on sticks 2nd year and then they grew together into a great fence.
