I live in Quebec. Our foyer has a door to the garage (steel, sealed, auto-closing), and also another interior door to the rest of the home. I other words, there is a door between the interior garage door and the rest of the house. I want to remove this door to open up the foyer.

Does anybody know if this second door is required by code? I don't think it is, provided that the interior door accessing the garage is to code, but it would be nice to know for sure. I can't find the relevant code information online. I will probably end up calling a code official but thought I'd try here anyway!

As long as the garage door is auto-closing and sealing, there shouldn't be a problem.

We have an interior door (auto-close, sealing) to our garage that is located adjacent to 2 bedrooms in a hallway. That isn't a problem.

Now the disclaimer: you should still call the building code guys at "city hall", anyway, to make sure.
