I just moved to a new place, and the outlet for my dryer is for a 3 prong plug, but my dryer is equipped with a 4 prong cord. I assume it is easy to switch these out, but when I went to buy a new 3 prong cord, there are only 3 wires (non-color coded) to be placed on the posts. The 4 prong cord has 4 wires (one black, one red, one white, and the ground wire, I assume, which is green) Could anyone please let me know the proper way to wire this? I know this may sound a bit elementary, but I want to do it right, and not give myself a shock!! Any help will be greatly appreciated...Thanks!

I had to work in a loft for what i thought would be a short time, so i decided not to go out and buy a mask, the job actually took alot longer than i thought and i was moving the loft insulation around and generally walking and crawling around in the loft for about 2 hours. I noticed all the dust when i shon the torch in certain positions but the dust was not visible at first, it wasnt untill i shon the torch around that i could see it all. I inhaled alot of this dust for about 2 hours and i could smell it on occasions but not always. Does anyone know what it is?, and is it dangerous? ive heard people suggest that it is called fibreglass, but i thought it was called loft insulation? my skin was very itchy afterwards but it seemed to be ok after a shower. My main concern is my lungs, can anyone give me any idea as to the effects i should look out or anything at all?

I want to stop the bugs and caterpillars from eating my flower garden, but I don't like the idea of killing animals just for being hungry. Does anyone know of an insect repellent that will keep bugs away without killing them? I don't think mosquito spray will work in this case.

I am trying to find the stainless steel film.To go over a dishwasher.I saw it on one of the shows on HGTV.It is a peel and stick film. When applied to the surface of an appliance it makes it look like a stainless steel appliance.Does anyone know if you can get it at Home depot or Lowes? If not does anyone know if someplace in or around the Jacksonville,Florda area that sells it. I would prefer to get it locally than over the net.

We had a small roof fire after the roofer fixed a leak. He used a torch to melt the membrain roofing. Once the fire trucks arrived (4 trucks 10-20 firemen) it took 15-18 minutes for them to get water on the fire. I was using my hose to control and knock out all visible flames. But I was stopped by the police and had to watch the fire reignite and cause more damage.

from a small meter to main 30 Amp. service fuse box. Can I connect the #10 wires from the meter with larger wires # 2 or # 4 for the time being so I can upgrade the service later? I am replacing the 30 Amp service fuse box with a 100Amp service breaker box.

So the flow of electricity looks like this -- the electricity provived by #10 wires connected by new # 4 wires, straight to new main 100 Amp service breaker box that provide service to the entire house. I wonder the small existing 30Amp. current go through larger #4 Amp wires could cause any possible problems? Am I pushing small 'water pressure' through larger pipes?

I am not touching/upgrading my small meter at this time .
