if im moving in an apartment with no washer/dryer hookups do they make any that doesnt need hookups?

Not that I know of. The water for the washing cycles has to come from somewhere, and the dryer needs a place to vent out to. If your apartment doesn't have hookups, it sounds like you're going to have to find a good laundry mat.

Hoover used to make washers that you hooked up to the sink, as far as the dryer you have to have a vent that will lead outside. I think other manufactorers have those type of washers too the one I had ( the Hoover) was back in the 70's. But I think they still make them. Your best bet would to find one might be to check out applicance showrooms, or places that sell slightly damaged applicances. The reason I say you might have a hard time finding one is because they are talking about getting rid of the old reliable washers and dryers the are top loaders they like the front loaders more now.

I had an apartment not to long ago like that. Everyone kept telling me to get this little washer deal that can hook up to your bathtub or kitchen sink. I never did look into though cause the laundry mat was two feet down the road pretty much and I had lots of friends and family willing to share their washers and dryers. well I just googled what I'm talking about and this is pretty much what I was talking about ( in the sources area) but it's old fashioned lined drying for clothes though I guess.

I agree with fire937. There is a stackable washer/dryer that runs off regular current, hooks up to & drains into the sink. And yes, they are small, but the alternative is trips to the laundromat. They are kind of expensive, look in your local want ads, sometimes you can find them for a descent price. If you have a rent-a-center, or furniture rental store near you, they have these on a rent to buy pretty reasonably.

Not that I have ever seen. You need water for the washer and a spill hose and you need a 220 line for the dryer. They sell an appliance box that you can attach to the dryer, so you don't need a hole in wall.

Washing machines are produced that with a small adaptor ($5.00 @ Lowes) will run off your sinks faucet and drain into your sink. They also make dryers that will plug into a standard 110 wall socket. The washers and dryers are much smaller and come on casters to be eaisly moved. Downfall these sets are very pricy, and you cannot wash as many clothes as a traditional set. Not that I know of anymore. We used to have a wringer washer. We gave it to a couple who had a new baby and couldn't afford to buy anything else.

Have you thought of washing your clothes by hand? Old fashioned, yes. But it gets the job done if you don't have anything. Laundromat prices are outrageous!

sometime soon the machine below will be released. pretty sure it'll cost a lot of money though

also, i'm pretty sure i've seen people "rig" their washing machines up to sinks in basements or where ever when the line was malfunctioning. just remember the importance of proper drainage too. good luck!

No, I'm afraid not... unless you want to use a wringer washer and have a place to hang them outside, I'm sure the apartment wouldn't allow that.
