I have a bed that was given to me and i hate the oak looking lcammy color and i would love to do it a dark blue, but the only thing is it will it take? if i prime will it take? if i dont prime will it take? it looks like wood but like a fake wood or processed wood or something, i have a toddler bed and i was going to paint his red but his is shiny and it looks sealed or something and most likely i would have to sand his down huh and then prime and paint? if so how far down do i sand? i need details plese im not single but on things like this i am.

The shiny wood has to be sanded and smoothed to hold the paint. The other bed I would prime and paint, it should be fine.
