I use windex and paper towels. Yes, vinegar works but it stinks. On the inside of the window wash up and down, On the outside wipe side to side. If, after you wash them, you notice up and down streaks you know it's on the inside. For windows higher up, I use a bucket with a gallon of inexpensive windshield washer fluid and a squeegie. Works for me.

The best way to clean them is to have self cleaning glass like what i have from royaltechwindows.com the sun cleans them it is great glass .
