I think it will probably be okay, just be patient. May not do anything until next year though.....

I think the entire Midwest and parts west of the Mississippi have the same problem. I have 6 Japanese maples that have me concerned. This is what I am going to do as soon as I can make sure it won't happen again.
I keep Root Hormone all the time I'm going to mix some with water and pour down on the roots and hope that will give it a boost in rooting/growing.
I figure it's worth a try. The reason I thought of it was because I once brought a start of pampas grass from Alabama in the dead of winter the ground was frozen some that's what I used to stimulate the growing. I also put a bale of straw around it to keep off the wind. I also used warm water.

Walmart carries it. I've never been told to do this, the directions don't tell you either, but logic tell me stimulate the roots and you stimulate the growth.

They should come back. don't cut back.they hate that and often die from it. I don't know, why.
