I do know the problem lies with the flapper. It goes down almost immediately after you push the handle. I tried adding more water to the tank, but that didn't work. The flapper should stay up long enough to allow the toilet to flush. I have well water. How can I get the flapper to stay up long enough? Would a new one work?

The cord won't even pull... it seems to be locked. (on both) The gas mix was a little old... perhaps 4 months. Both ran just fine until empty, with the same gas. They ran out of gas. I refilled them and discovered I could not pull the cord. They are both totally impossible to pull even an couple inches. Is this a 'seized' engine, or something more simple? I haven't yet tried again after cooling. One is 25 years old and one is about 5 years, no previous problems.
If this is something really bad and easy to diagnose, what can I do to prevent this if I purchase a new chain saw? Thanks!

If there is no ground wire then can I just ground to the metal box? I did that once and when I tested my tester showed "no ground". Since it is hard or impossible to bring a ground wire from the box then what should I do to get "ground OK" when I test?

I can buy the pre cut assembly stringers at Home Depot & Lowe's but can't seem to find the pre cut assembly for handrails. The steps are 33" high that came with mobile home. I need to upgrade to 36" to at least reach the bottom of the trailer.

I need to buy two new sofas, a chair and one large ottoman for my great room. It is a large room with high ceilings, so space is not an issue. I think I want the sofa styles to match, but should I also match the fabric? The only other upholstery I have in the room (at the moment) is a glass table w/four chairs. I typically like clean lines of a contemporary style.

I've seen outlets that say "15A" but I've always learned that we should always run 12-2 for outlets. Won't the conflict? Or if the breaker is only 15A then I can run 14-2 wire for outlets? Please explain in details. Thanks so much!

My waterlines froze in my house and I have to replumb most if not the whole house. I have pvc coming into the house and on my appliances. Do they make a connection to go from my supply lines (which are pvc) to Pex pipe and vice versa? I have 3/8" pvc so do I get the same size Pex?

Any other suggestions and tips would be appreciated. I have moderate experience with carpentry/plumbing but I have never even heard of Pex up to this point.

I would prefer white flowers along with the blue hydrangeas, but other suggestions are appreciated!

:) Thanks!

hi we are buying a new house....it was built in 2005 so it is very new. The walls and trim are white with pewter/silver cabinet pulls and a slate gray fire place mantle. The cabinets are are a medium oak color. The carpet throughout is a light sage green color. What colors compliment the white and sage green? Right now i sort of decorate in country....like navy burgandy and forrest green (this is what my couches are) These in my opinion would look awful in this newer looking home with all the clean lines. I also own quite a bit of items with wrought iron which i think would look nice. BUT i need a sort of color palate that would compliment this carpet color with all the white on the walls. Like a tan couch? White or wood coffee table? HELP! need opinions!

I read something about them giving off ammonia gas.
They eat leaf litter and rotting wood, nutrients found in soil and leaf litter, but isn't that just a way nature processes stuff, or are they a garden pest... or are they pests in large numbers?
