hi we are buying a new house....it was built in 2005 so it is very new. The walls and trim are white with pewter/silver cabinet pulls and a slate gray fire place mantle. The cabinets are are a medium oak color. The carpet throughout is a light sage green color. What colors compliment the white and sage green? Right now i sort of decorate in country....like navy burgandy and forrest green (this is what my couches are) These in my opinion would look awful in this newer looking home with all the clean lines. I also own quite a bit of items with wrought iron which i think would look nice. BUT i need a sort of color palate that would compliment this carpet color with all the white on the walls. Like a tan couch? White or wood coffee table? HELP! need opinions!

I have sage green in my house, couches are a dark forest green with tan and rusty brown pillows. Bedroom has blues and lavender along with the white. Yellow also goes well.

Any shade of plum or pink would be very pretty but if your living with a guy that can be tough. Black would also look nice if it has a colored print on it with sage green in it somewhere. I have sage green walls with white trim and I have a lot of "nick-nacks" that are black with a colored floral print on them and they look gorgeous next to my walls! One of my loveseats is tan and I can tell you right now it does NOT look great next to sage! As for a coffee table, white would probably look the best but if you want wood i'd stick to a light colored wood, no cherry or dark colored shiny wood.

if you look at any color chart green is near yellow and blue, but id say a mustard color works better with sage green

I would suggest painting the walls a beige tone. Black accents would look great. Golds, maroons, & hunters would all go with this scheme. My bedroom has sage walls & beige carpeting, I have all of these colors in there & it looks great. The black accents really set it off.
