I moved in here a year ago and the previous tenant was a chain smoker and had a dog which used inside the house as its toilet! The windows are old and could not be opened even by me, a younger person. I cleaned with bleach and redecorated the whole place and opened windows whenever possible but it STILL SMELLS ! Any advice please.

I see people posting questions with pictures in them on other forums. I was trying to send a picture of a shrub on here, but after 6 times, still would not post. Is it maybe not allowed on the garden forum? anybody else tried to send a picture in a question on the garden forum?

I change clothes two or three times a day...and she always puts all the clothes in the dirty clothes bing. I keep them neatly hung up in my closet and in the a.m. they are gone and in the wash.
I also she is wearing the life out of most of clothes and washing them in too hot of water..like Jeans and sweatshirts . This shrinks them...well, she is obsessed with laundry!

Is electricity less dangerous in Spain than here in the UK, they have unswitched power outlets and apparently normal light switches in bathrooms. How? Why?

I want a nice evergreen groundcover that is durable enough to walk on , yet looks good.
I saw Irish moss ( i dont think it looks special) , I like the look of the Cotoneaster. But it seems to grow fairly tall. Any suggestions?

Recently our fridge stopped being as cold as normal. Our milk turned solid (yogurt-like, when a milk would expire). We put it at the highest/coldest setting and it's still not as cold as it used to be. The ice cream in the freezer isn't rock-hard anymore like it used to be either, it's soft. What could be the problem?

Help! I think I have maggots in my compost bin. They are about 2cm long and a cream colour (very squirmy). There are heaps of them!

I only put fruit and vegetables, shredded paper and garden waste in the bin (with some lime powder). I use a thick plastic compost bin with a lid (small holes on side for aeration) - purchased not made myself.

Everything put in the bin is dry but I do live in a hot and humid climate (hot summer at the moment).

Any ideas of why the maggots are there and any ideas how I can get rid of them without ruining the compost?

Thanks!

I have extremely hard water- full of minerals and calcium. We actually have to replace all our faucets about every 12 to 18 months. because the faucets just rot away!! How can I whiten my whites- not just whites with colors on them, but even solid white clothing. Even with chlorine bleach after 2 to 3 washes, everything looks dingy- grayish, yellowed sort of color!! And of course the clothes you cannot use Clorox on look even worse!! I have tried Oxyclean, Clorox 2, etc, even old fashioned bluing on the solid whites, but nothing helps!! Sure hope someone can help me! P.S. My daughter is a Surgical Tech, and wears a lot of white, obviously she needs to look clean and bright, new uniforms are too expensive to have to replace every time you turn around!! HELP!!

I'm getting a new cherry stain wood bedset and I don't know if I should try to find something that light or if i should go with a darker color. I've been going crazy with the smart color on behr.com .... i looked at colors like adobe straw and raspberry pudding...i just don't know really.

I want to get like a beige netural color or some dark red purple color..... any suggestions would be helpful or if you could perhaps direct me towards some bedroom pictures that have different wall colors for inspiration...thank you.

Can you find computer spray, guitar spray, or any sort of canned air in a general store? Like Wal-Mart or Albertsons or something? If so where in the store? (I don't mean like desanitizers or smelly stuff, I meaned compressed air sort of thing. The kind of cans that after you spray it for a while it gets really cold). I've been having a freaking ton of trouble reaching dust in tight spaces (like on my guitar and behind some funiture and stuff) and I need compressed air. Any idea?
