I have used alcohol also on housegoods. Try it. Couldn't hurt it. If it doesn't work you'll have to prime and paint the area again.

I got sharpie marks off once with rubbing alcohol...but it was on my furniture...don't know if it will work on the wall. You may have to prime the wall and repaint it...my child did the same thing, but the paint was flat and it would not come off...so it may depend on the type of paint that is on your wall.

Just read your comments..I was renting when this happened as well...they ended up telling me not to worry as they would repaint it when i moved out(they did) hope this may be an option for you and they won't charge you for something like this if you can't get it out.

the only other solution i can think of would have been to use a baby wipe. Believe it or not they work really good on walls. I have two little ones. It wont completley remove it but, it will fade it enough so that it will not bleed through when you re paint the wall. Good luck.

I'm not sure if it will still work after you bleached it, but I was able to remove a sharpie mark once using peanut butter.

Yes peanut butter. I have no idea why it worked.

WD-40 or goo be gone. you can even try sunscreen, I know it sounds strange, but i have gotton sharpie off counters using it. i don't know what they put in it but it will take permanent marker of a lot of things including your hands.

I realize you can CHANGE the paint color - are you sure you can repaint one wall to match the existing color? Why would your landlord object to that?

Go out and buy that magic eraser. It does work.

sorry to say that will be more likely impossible... you will have to re-paint the wall.
