We have an old AO Smith gas furnace (Hydronic Boiler) with hot water radiators. Lately the furnace occaisonally starts making a low-frequency whistling sound (like a train) after it has been running for some time. The sound will stop if I shut the furnace off for a few minutes and then back on again. Furthermore, I have noticed that this sound will stop when the the burner shuts off. The gas burner will cycle off periodically (for a minute or so) while the the water pump continues to run. During this time when the burner is off, the sound goes away but starts up again when the burner restarts. This tells me that the noice is not coming from the water circulation system, but from the gas. Any help would be appreciated.

My tub has a shower door on it that I'd like to take down and replace with a shower curtain. It seems to be screwed in, but is that all there is to it, just take the doors off, unscrew it, and pop the doors off? What about the holes that the screws will leave, do they have to be sealed, and if so, how? HELP!!

i have a Japanese White pine (pinus parviflora)and am usure if it is dead or not all the leaves have fallen off and all the branches are very dry i have snapped one of the branches off and it seems to be no life in them (the branches),

But i have scratched the trunk of the tree and under is like a moist cream color which looks like it may still be alive.
Also i have found a couple of tiny white worm like insects in the soil?

its hard to explain it is as thin as the tip of a needle and about 1cm in lenth i think this may be killing it or am over watering it. (how much water shuld i be giving the bosai as i have been told each bonsai takes different amounts. i live in the uk in liverpool if it helps.

I always do laundry every Monday at the same time. This last monday at 6:00 i went to do my laundry and went to my room. one hour later i went back to the laundy room and the pipes were frozen, so the water wasn't draining. I couldn't take the cothes out because well, where would I put them ( being that there wet). It was late so i decicded to wait until tommorow. However, i ive in CT and temperatures dropped during the night to 10 degrees. There's no heat in the laundry room. When i woke up i went to see my cothes but they are complete frozen. The water is frozen! i don't know waht to do! help!

I have a boiler that burns oil. The only way I can turn on the boiler is by Pressing the red botton by the blower.but it doesnot spark. I cannot see the spark and the flash of the flame that is made to heat up the water to send steam around the house.I recently hired a plumber to put on water heaters around the basement. His work looks alright, but the return of the water goes back into the same pipe that comes out of the boiler to the circulating pump?should it be like that?

Please help. We bought a new memory foam mattress at the weekend, one which is 100% memory foam and no springs. My problem is that I have hardly slept at all since we have had it. I expected it to mould to me but actually find it quite hard. Has anyone else had this problem and will it get better? I thought that it would "give" a bit but seeing as the selling point of memory foam is that it retains it's shape etc. am now a bit doubtful. Please help, it has cost us a fortune and we really can't/don't want to go back and buy another type.
