My tub has a shower door on it that I'd like to take down and replace with a shower curtain. It seems to be screwed in, but is that all there is to it, just take the doors off, unscrew it, and pop the doors off? What about the holes that the screws will leave, do they have to be sealed, and if so, how? HELP!!

after removing screws use a small flexible putty knife to pry the "glued-on" metal bottom track and side supports. Metal tools can make marks on tile and porcelain surfaces that can be hard to remove so use a hard plastic scraper to remove any remaining caulk. Use Comet or Bon Ami to finish up with.
The screw holes may have plastic anchors that can be removed by screwing a screw in slightly then using plyers to pull out the anchor. Fill hole with 100% silicon caulk (they make several colors) or with grout (which will give you a larger selection of colors)

All the aforementioned answers are pretty close to what you are facing. I had a similar issue but with an acrylic tub... for sure, go easy when scraping the silicone off the top of the tub... scratches are easily had. You can also use a car wax to polish up the top when you're done...
I found that filling the holes with silicone still left a 'remnant' of the doors that used to be there... a filled hole in tile is a filled hole... still 'visible'... What I did was went to Home Depot and into the plumbing parts section. I bought the small, round silver tap handle covers (some covers have a blue C or a red H on them)... you can get them that are just smoothe chrome. I filled the hole with silicone, bent the little fingers of the tap top thing in and then siliconed the covers over the holes. It shows as 3 chrome spots on the wall but seems to look better to me than just a filled, rough hole... my opinion of taste only... and just an idea for a more finished look... Good Luck

The doors should "pop off" just lift off the track and pull towards you gently. The track may be screwed down and it definetly has a bead of silicone or some other sealant. Use a sharp razor knife (CAREFULLY) to cut the sealant from in between the track and tub, once the screws have been removed. Fill the holes with fresh silicone (Not a latex). Good luck.
