I have a couple of old 5" diameter floor drains. They are sunken about 2" from the floor surface. I tried banging it around the edges with a screwdriver and hammer and prying through the grid. Any tricks to getting them up without busting them up? I need to run a snake down to get the drain working. Thanks.

I'm moving into my apartment next weekend, first time living on my own with no roommates, so I'll have none of my own pots or pans. It seems like everywhere I look though that they're at least $100 for a tiny set. Anyone have any ideas where to search? Or does anyone know a specific site to order them off of that may be cheaper there?

I'm looking for something that stains plastic (like as in plastic sandwich containers) on contact with no rubbing or wait periods. I've been told turmeric powder mixed with water might work. Is this true? If not, can you give any other options? Also, will I be able to remove the stain afterwards with bleach or something else? This is for a project, so color/texture/usability of the container afterwards does not matter.

ive used tub enamel from menards and applied it as directed( with proper prepping), but it peeled within a year. the area that peeled the worst was the floor of the tub where the original glaze(PINK!!!) was somewhat worn and therefore porous.i realise i have to strip the enamel i applied last year, but if it try again...i want to make sure it lasts. after some research...i beleive the problem i had was lack of a proper binding primer.
thank you for your help! :)

My basement smells like something died down there. We think that it might have been a mouse or something. We pinpointed it behind the built-in bookcase or behind one of the walls in one room, but when we took the bookcase off and removed the insulation, we saw nothing. We called a pest company and they told us to just let it dissipate, but it has been a month. The smell goes from being really strong to being mild, than to strong again and we are now started to observe gnats flying throughout the house. What should I do?

I saw a commercial for a new tool that can be used as either a drill or a jig saw and didnt catch the brand name or the name of the tool. I went to Sears and they had no idea what I was talking about. I looked on Black and Deckers website and couldnt find it there so I dont think that was them. Thanks in advance!

I just bought a house and I've noticed that my sump pump comes on about every 30-45 minutes. Thats seems a bit excessive so I'm wondering if it needs to be replaced. The house is about 4 years old and it sits at the bottom of a hill so I'm told the sump pump comes on because I get the water from the homes that sit above me. I would appreciate any advise or ideas as I am a first time home owner. Thanks.
