I used to be a paint chemist for Sears paint...sorry but basically nothing sticks to a enamel tub well....you are basically trying to paint glass...the only thing that would help is to scratch the surface of the enamel extensively...like tough steel wool over and over again....to give it something to grab on but other guys answer is true ,,with even a little wear or cleaning it will peel off. We invented an adhesion additive years ago that helped enormously but it cost 10 cents a gallon more and they decided against it?? I would not try to paint a tub....sorry

There is no enamel "tub paint" that I know of. I've been in the business over 47 years and have never heard of any. There is an glazing kit for tubs but, this is a cat from another town.

This kit for tubs runs about $47.00 and you have to know what your doing to put it on. Once you read the directions and understand it, you'll know what I'm talking about. I have reglazed many tubs with good effects. It's been on the market for years, anyone that knows what they're doing should be able to work with this.

Nothing will work. The tub's surface is too smooth for the paint to grab. Think of painting as applying liquid Velcro. The paint molecules cover and fill the tiny spaces between the surface molecules. When the paint dries, the paint's outer layer acts as a backer, to lock the protruding, gripping molecules in place. It sticks to itself, a property called "cohesion."
The enamel is too smooth for the paint to penetrate.
