We have one of those short 20 something gal water heaters and there is a small hole on the top(came that way) that you can see the insulation through. Well my cat just peed on top of the water heater and it went in that hole and shorted something out. What is up there electrically that blew and made a loud POP sound? Will the heater work when everything dries out?

I need to get rid of/burn some sticks (yard waste). Any reason why I shouldn't do it in a tall weber grill? I was going to get a firepit for that purpose, but now I'm thinking why not use Weber. Why not?

It runs for a few seconds and then stops then it does it again a few minutes later. I replaced the Fill valve. I have a Fluidmaster fill valve 400A. I shut the water off at the valve but it turns itself back on. and starts making the same noise and running. It is wasting water and very annoying.

We are remodeling a home. The main floor has 5 rooms, one is a kitchen with eat-in dining, one is a bathroom, one is a bedroom, one is a living room, and the last room could be several different things. It could be a dining room, a den/family room, or a bedroom. The upstairs has three rooms, two are bedrooms and the other one could be a bedroom or a bathroom. So my question is should we make the last room on the main floor a dining room, a den/family room, or a bedroom? And should we make the last room upstairs a bedroom or a bathroom? What is going to sell the house better? Or does it not matter and we should focus more on quality and other things to help the house sell?

I've had him for about 7 years and lately he's started to drop leaves like crazy. Maybe 20 leaves a day, and if I fan my hand across him, he'll drop even more. He's in a moderate temperature with indirect light. Should I consider cutting/pruning him? He's about 4 feet tall. Is it not enough water?

I am planning for a remodel of kitchen and dining room. I need help and expertise on different types of flooring. Anyone have any experience or comments on these types: ceramic tile, slate, travertine or limestone. Or any other that you might know of. I need it to be very resistant to the abuse from my pets and children. (And husband) Any comments would be great. Thanks.

There was rain damage during a storm. The roof came off. We replaced the roof but the inside wood is hard to reach. We can spray bleach to try to kill the mold but we cannot wipe it down. I am also worried about the wood floors and wonder if I should be concerned about anything in between the floor/ceiling.

I have a new Panason WhisperLite fan in our bathroom. When it was not connected to the ductwork, it was super quiet. As soon as we connected it, it starting making a tinny, rattling noise. When I first inspected it, I noticed that I could get a similar noise by removing the ductwork and restricting airflow from the fan (via the dampener), but now I'm pretty convinced, after disassembling the fan, that the noise *is* coming from the ductwork. We've inspected the outside vent and it's not obstructed, so it's coming from somewhere within the ductwork. Is this is a common problem? Is there any way to dampen the noise? Unfortunately, we have the ductwork boarded up now (bathroom is downstairs and we recently had the upstairs floor opened up), but we have slight access through the ceiling next to the fan such that we could disconnect the ductwork if need be. BTW this is metal, ribbed ductwork (4 inch). Any help is MUCH appreciated - this is causing us some headaches!
