i guarantee you if you go to a hardware store and get a can of bengal, those roaches will die, and keep dying, i use to live in florida, and there are many roaches there, especially when someone moves out, it looks like a bug spray, but it works, call your local hardware store to see if they have any, i so sure that they can kill them, that i bet my life on it.

Outside... Use a Borax type powder soap and sprinkle it lightly around your house. Maybe need to do this twice a week. Bugs don't like it.
Inside... Use 8 drops of Bay Essential Oil in 4 cups of water. (you can get the oil at a health food store or they can tell you where to get it.) Soak a cloth in it and wipe down all floors, counter tops and inside cabinets. You need to do this a couple times a week (i wipe my floors and counter tops every day anyway so it's no big thing) Roaches hate it. Where I live, we have do-it-yourself type stores where you can get bug killing stuff. They have this gel type stuff in a tube that you put a dime-sized drop of it on a small square of aluminium foil and stick in corners of the house, back of cabinets, where they run, and also say you should take covers off light switches and outlets and put some of the gel in that area because roaches like to travel iinside your walls. They eat it, take it back to the colony. Kills em.
If you do need to get your house bagged and gassed. Check the contractor out with your local county business licensing office. They will have a record of complaints about the
contractor/company, if there are any. Your state should have a record of that as well as possibly the Better Business Bureau.
Pest Control Companies... Probably going to try to sell you a yearly service plan. I don't know what to tell you about that. I would have said it depends on the reputation of the company. BUT!!! I read a few weeks ago that one of those "reputable" companies had been ripping people off. It's good to ask people in your community who they would use.

Boric acid, it is very effective when used properly for killing cockroaches and most other insects. You can also get a house lizard, they are natural enemies and will eat them. More information at http://tinyurl.com/ofxkk

Boric acid, you can get it at Home Depot & sprinkle it around.
It works fast. I would also get Combats or something like that.
You gotta work fast before you have them all over the place.
