the bleed screws. Part way thru I got no water and no air, even after waiting 10 minutes. I started my bleeding from the lowest radiator to the highest. What is going on and what do I do now?

Hi! Make sure the pressure in the system is up. Most pressures are around 12-15 lbs. Bleed the radiator until you get no pressure or water. Go back and check the pressure again. If the make up water is working right, the pressure should come back up. One way to get around this is to see if there is a bypass around the make up water valve. Some of the valves even have a little lever on the top to force the pressure up in the system. Run the pressure up to 20 lbs. or so. Don't go above 30 lbs, or the pop off will go off. You will have to keep the pressure up in the system to bleed any air out correctly. Let the water pressure force the air out. Hope this helps! Good luck! E-mail if any problems or more info!!

After you came to the radiator that had no water and no air, did you go to any of the remaining radiators? Either you have no water from halfy to the highest, or that radiator is turned off or clogged. Your system may not be taking in make up water.

Make sure the radiator is full, it sometimes takes 10 minutes or 20 minutes.

But if you know your thermostat is good, then you don't have to worry, but if that thermostat is stuck closed, then you don't want that.

I normally have a guage on cars that I have to bleed, if you do, then just watch the guage and make sure it doesn't go into the red. If no guage, then thats scary, you don't want a blown head gasket.

despite if it particularly is the pump, which it could desire to not be, there nevertheless could desire to be water in the upstairs radiators. As pronounced, did you examine the dazzling tank? The CH one is particularly small whilst in comparison with the only that aspects the nice and cozy water cylinder. in many circumstances the ball valve sticks in the close place in those tanks and in basic terms desires a wiggle to get it to artwork. There could desire to easily be a rather small quantity of water in this tank so it is going to possibly not look finished. in case you could not come across the reason i elect to propose which you call out British gas centers. they're the superb, have the superb grant of spares and promises you a assure for the artwork. they're not extra costly than your easy 'plumber'. the adaptation is they understand what they're doing!
