Try putting several layers of paper towel on the wax, and warming it GENTLY with an iron set on low. When you start seeing wax soak into the paper towel, stop heating, and blot up all the wax you can. When the wax hardens, warm it again using fresh paper towels as you need to.

Oh, I've been there, done that! Here is my tried-and-true method: Put a brown paper bag (like from the grocery store) over the spot, press with a warm (not hot) iron, and continue to use a fresh piece of paper until all the wax is absorbed. Sounds strange, but this really does work!

I lay a towel down on top of it and iron over it and the towel will absorb most of the wax. (use an old towel you don't mind damaging). The remaining wax I let harden and then rub it with another towel or brush to loosen it and then vacuum it up.

DO NOT PUT A IRON OR PAPER TOWEL..GEEZE....JUST TAKE A HOT CLOTH, ONE YOU CAN SOAK IN HOT WATER...IT WILL COME RIGHT UP.
if you want to get wax off of a jar or something, all you do it put it under hot water, it will come right off.
I am pretty sure if you semi boil some water, put the rag in it, and then put the hot clothe on the wax and pull it should come up.
