You have to chop a few down every year, so you need fast growing trees that provide good heat when burned. You also need to squeeze in the most trees per acre. What are the best trees for this?

I have an older model drop-in stove and recently purchased a freestanding one to replace it. I would like to do the installation myself. How do I remove the old one and how do I go about removing the countertop behind and underneath the stove. What electrical modifications will likely be involved?

saw in my paper today that home depot has no interest no payments on credit card purchases $299 and over. While reading the fine print, it listed the apr for purchases of $2000 or more. I was going to get a washer/dryer that would be a little over that. Does that mean it wouldn't apply? Here are the terms from the home depot site.

"FINANCE CHARGES accrue from the date of purchase and all accrued FINANCE CHARGES will be added to your Account for the entire promotional period if qualifying purchases, including premiums for optional credit insurance, are not paid in full before the end of the deferred payment period or if you fail to make any required payment on your Account when due. See below for details.*

*With credit approval for purchases made on the Home Depot Consumer Credit Card. APR for purchases: 21% and 15.48% for purchases of $2,000 or more; Default Rate for purchases of $2,000 or more APR: 19%. Minimum Finance Charge $1.00. "

After completing a bathroom tile job, including a tile "baseboard" border about 6" up from the floor, we have dried thinset in on the actual wall - places we missed during cleanup. I've tried using some scrapers (plastic and metal), and the dried thinset is like concrete (naturally) and is pulling layers of drywall off with it.

Is there a solvent or better way to remove the dried thinset from both the wall and the exposed rim of the tiles? As a last resort I might be okay with slight damage to the walls as they need serious prep anyway before paint, but I do want to make sure i haven't missed some very obvious, easier, better solution first.

From everywhere in the house, it sounds like someone is taking a shower. It isn't a "humming" noise like I see described in other questions. It definately sounds like someone taking a shower. We can't find evidence of leaking or moisture seaping through the walls. Does anyone know what the source of this noise could be? A friend suggested the water heater, but we aren't sure. Thank you for any and all suggestions.

This could be new, or a used ladder, and prices for both would help.

When my 'Maxi' boiler is running the central heating, it overflows
hot water into the expansion tank in the loft. (NOT causing it to
overflow)
When the thermostat turns the boiler off - the back boiler makes
a rumbling/gurgling noise.
Do I have a serious problem?

The room is quite small so I would prefer a couple of sofas, but since I had a disaster with my old leather ones, I would prefer sort of something more modern. And, being a woman, I want them before Christmas. Tall order eh?
