This is a serious problem; do NOT let it sit there, it will only get worse. (People who rent out those "Moon Walks" for parties complain about this a lot!)
Answer: use WD-40 (the spray lubricant, sold in every hardware store). Let it soak in for 10 minutes, it'll turn gummy and easy to rub off.
If that doesn't work, use "Goof Off" or "Goo-Gone Cleaner", which are solvents (you can buy them at Home Depot, Lowe's). This is more toxic, so use it only if WD-40 doesn't work.
Other products I've seen recommended include 3M's Wax and Adhesive Remover, and "DX440" made by "PPG" -- both available in auto paint supply stores. I haven't tried them.
But try the WD-40 first (cheaper, less toxic).
Silly string is especially bad on plastics (like toys), vinyl (like moon walks), and car paint. You are not the first person to have this problem -- it's a *@#$ nuisance!
Good luck!

Thank you.... I used "Goo Gone" on a plastic baby doll. The silly string was dry and I scraped off what I could, but it still looked very bad. The "Goo Gone" was like magic!! I put some on a rag, applied it liberally, let it set 5 mintes or so and because it don t just rub off, I used my thumb nail to scrap it off. There was no damage to the doll what-so-ever, so stain or any evidence of it ever being there at all!! Because it was a child s toy, I then washed it with a little soap and water to remove the oil residue and toxins that would have been left behind and gently dried it with a dry cloth. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!
