The room is quite small so I would prefer a couple of sofas, but since I had a disaster with my old leather ones, I would prefer sort of something more modern. And, being a woman, I want them before Christmas. Tall order eh?

Ikea, Freecycle, ebay even (my mate got lovely furniture from there recently).
Alternatively, some of the larger ones (DFS etc) do sell some of their display stock off every now and then, reduced and immediately available - you'd just have to check your local paper!

Try second hand sales rooms or for-sale columns in local paper Sometimes you can pick up a bargain.You'd be surprised at the quality of some of the goods on offer.

there are a lot of sales on take a day off of work and go shopping we have just bought one that was 2k for £600. dfs or scs ask about their slight seconds much much cheaper

ikea do a two seater sofa that is more like a three seater for about £120 it is called a klippan

go to freecycle.org they give them away if there is ne going in ur local area
