rose petals laying around the bed and a path to the bed with candles burning around . Spray a light smell nothing too strong or over powering.

sheer the walls with cloth and used twisted cloth and flowers around the room... and lots of candles of different heights and thicknesses. Got plush new comforter set for the bed with lots of shammy pillows to match. No, this is not exactly cheap but it's not very expensive yet, and I never mentioned furniture, except you will need some kind to put the candles on. Unless you want to get chandeliers for candles.... I've also heard of putting a mesh pot rack on the ceiling to put the thick candles on and use. Just don't forget that they are up there when they are lit.
Darn, I like my ideas, now I want to do it... it sounds so cozy. Oh, and can you paint the walls... a burgandy color? Or a soft pale blue? Good luck.

Pile 3 -4 same size large square cushions (24 "sq.),tied up with ribbon like a present, on either side of head of bed on floor ( like night tables)
Hang drapery ( can use a matching sheet ) on a rod on wall at the head of the bed. Trim rod with fairy lights.
Create a tent effect hanging light mosquito netting over bed, pulling it back to wall with ribbons.
Lots of cushions on bed.
Cover anything, t.v. tables, boxes, with fabric then use for lamps.

Warm colored paints and soft padded carpet with soft ambient lighting. What ever you decide on, be fire safe. The definition of romantic differs depending on your sexual preference. Guys don't care much for all the frilly stuff and rose pedals.

drape some fancy material from corner to corner, hang candle holders on the wall and use them. rose petals everywhere, or glitter. have a supply of stuff on hand like lotions, chocolate syrup, marichino cherries, toys, porn, etc. Play dress up/costumed, role play.
You're only limited by your imagination.
