My garage door often, but not always, will not close at night. During the day, it works fine. But, at night, the door will close to within about 10 inches of the floor then reverse and re-open. The lights on the opener will then flash four times (its a Craftsman) as if there is something blocking its way. (The path is actually clear of obstructions.) Any thoughts? Thank.s

This is a brand new 150 watt bulb, and I've had it plugged into a fixture designed for up to 150 watts, but it isn't lighting up. I don't want my house to burn down.

I'm a bit confused as some yacht varnish products say they are suitable for floors, and some say not... and some even say not suitable for marine use which goes overmy head!!!

this product link below for example sounds suitable and the price is worth looking at in comparison to some of the others ive seen online.

its a toolstation product... basically im looking for a very tough long lasting coating and yacht varnish was suggested by a floor guy who said "to be honest its they best type of varnish if you weant a gloss,, long llasting, non yellowing finnish, many would say its a no no but thats just floor specialist snobery" that was his words... what do ya think...any comments welcome

The stove requires you to turn the knob all the way to the left to light it up. When you do you hear a ticking sound. But even when you are not doing this, I still get the ticking, so I have to pull the plug to stop it. How do I stop the ticking without pulling the plug.

This is the first Christmas my husband and I are having together and I haven't decorated for Christmas for as long as I can remember. My family never really decorated after my parents got divorced and I never helped before then because I was too young.

My husband and I are decorating this year though, and other than the tree and lights, I really can't think of any other good ideas. I know he will have a few, but I want as many ideas as I can get.

Also what are some good ideas for things to put in stockings, because I want to do that this year too and I've never had one before. It's just me and my husband and our cat. No children.

Any ideas you have would be helpful. Thanks.

I am currently looking to purchase a new home in NC. What sort of "evidence" should I look for to see if a home has termites, or has ever had them? I know a home inspector will find it if it's there - but I don't want to sign a contract at all on a home if I know in advance. Serious answers only please.

Someone said that the valve needs to be replaced by going into it from the wall behind it. Is this the problem and any easy way to replace it?

I live by myself in a two-story house. After huge gas bills last winter I decided to buy a space heater, close off my bedroom and only heat my bedroom this winter. I would probably be willing to let the rest of the house go completely without heat except I know I need to keep some warmth so pipes don't freeze. My question then is what is the lowest temperature I can allow the rest of the house to be before the cold would cause damage?

My girlfriend only uses bleach when doing her whites. She said since bleach kills everything-that washing powder is not effective on top of the bleach. Do you agree??

15)A homeowner wishes to insulate her attic with fiberglass insulation to
conserve energy. The insulation comes in 40-cm wide rolls that are cut to fit between
the rafters in the attic. If the roof is 6 m from peak to eave and the attic space is 2 m high at the peak, how long does each of the pieces of insulation need to be? Round to the nearest tenth.

For the home described in exercise 15, if the roof is 7 m from peak to eave and the attic space is 3 m high at the peak, how long does each of the pieces of insulation need to be? Round to the nearest tenth.
