Anyone know what are the rules and/or laws (if any) governing installing and maintaining electrical devices/fittings in UK by unqualified homeowners?
I have always "Done my own" but a friend told me the rules had changed recently, or are they about to change??

Any sites or info would be useful

If I wanted to build two to three independant 3/4 bedroom bungalows, provide for a swimming pool, servant quarters, moderate lawn space and perhaps a tennis court, what would be the minimum land size needed? Would an acre do? How many grounds (60'x40') is an acre?

I'm pretty sure the small anoying ones are the ones that come in search of food. But I have been seeing these medium/large sized ones frequently.I'm not sure but I think they are called wood roaches.I have never had this problem before and now I'm chasing them down and killing them like 2 or 3 times a week. They
are very creepy and I can't stand it. When I see one it sends shivers down my back. What I want to know is what causes them
to come in.Is it the on coming cold weather or are they looking for water. And how can I get them out?

My mother received a large and beautiful Chinese Evergreen plant recently and she was talking about giving it away because she was afraid that she wouldn't take good care of it. I convinced her to let us keep it, but now I feel responsible to make sure that it gets the right care. What kind of water and light conditions do these plants need?

I am looking for some sort of duster with a really long extendable handle, like 15 to 20 feet, to clean the corners of my vaulted ceilings. I found one at Target but it was only like 10 feet and wasnt long enough. If you know a product name or where I could find one, that would be great. Thanks!
