UNPLUG or TURN OFF POWER to the disposal and retrieve what you can from the disposal. You may have simply overstuffed it or you may need to count your silverware! If you get it to run , run a lot of water and only a littlr food at a time. I also suggest not using the plunger on your sink as these pipe joints may not take the pressure and you may develope a leak. Lastly you probably compacted food in the trap. the trap is the small bend in the pipe which drops down then back up agian under your sinks just before leaving from under there. these usually remove by unscrewing the connections pretty easily. have something ready underneath to catch water and stuff!!

The best thing to do after you tried to reset it and used a plunger....use the end of the handle of a broom and stick it into the disposal and try to loosen the metal blade. Take the handle out and try turning it on again. It will work but, you have to unstick the blade. Good Luck.

It sounds like the trap drain is clogged, if not and the disposal does not turn then there is a "Allen" screw on the bottom of the disosal (usaully a 5/32) insert the proper allen wrench and turn.
Good luck

Did you hit the reset button on the bottom of the disploser? Try it or use a hex key on the bottom of the disposer to clear foreign waste.

Yup, that food makes glue in the pipes, you need to pull the P trap and clear it. Make sure to put a large pot under the trap before you go to remove it.

Turn it on (while hands and fingers are clear of the device).
