He doesn't want to pay for professional roofer and has put a roof on a small building he built. Our ceilings are leaking, and the professional roofer who gave us a $3000 quote (somebody who was well-recommended) said he'd be putting a new roof over the existing one (you can do that with one layer).

I'm wondering if my husband has the expertise...

He's relatively handy, but not a construction worker by any means.
It's great that he's willing, but I'm wondering if there's more to roofing than meets the eye...

Stems are rather thin, and the tiny pinkish flowers in spring don't last long. It's growing very fast.

40 gallon pot containing ivy at the base of a 4 ft cedar tree
lots of natural light and plenty of water -- good drainage
no signs of webbing, bugs or mold
ivy is dying fairly rapidly - turning brown and drying out

I own a 1100 sqare foot ranch with an attached 2-car garage. I've had a couple of people out for estimates and they have told me that a ridge vent wouldn't be necessary. They all suggested installing more vents under the overhangs. My fiance's father tells me that we should have a ridge vent put in do to the increased circulation it would create. However, the roof guys that I've had come out state that with the lack of pitch in my roof (there is a slight pitch) that it wouldn't be necessary.

There is some emulsion or masonary paint painted directly onto unsealed Sandstone which I want to remove. It will chip off but I don't want to damage the stone behind. I think that solvent may make the paint bleed into the stones pores so would prefer to remove it with another [easy] method.

I am putting up a garden shed in my garden. It is in flatpack form, ready to put together. I have concrete flags which i am going to put down 1st. I need to get it built a.s.a.p. The area where i'm putting the shed is grassed. Will i be able to just lay the flags without digging up the grass. (Theres not alot of soil, as the grass is just what has grown through the 'hardcore').

...frogs/toads are jumping out all over the place, quite large ones too! (fist sized). I don't want to run over the poor things, after all they eat spiders. Is there an easy way I can get them out of the way without hurting them?

My friend had an empty property, before a bunch of squatters occupied it. What is the best way to get rid or them (no jokes please)? Is the procedure really long and involving the police? What are the squatters' legal rights?
