Have been waiting for someone to come pick up the skip all day, and sick of being at home! Any ideas when he might deign to arrive, or should I give up and go out anyhow?

He'll most likely get there when you decide to go to the loo. Ring the bell, wait 5 seconds and then do off so you have to rearrange. This is the norm for any kind of service where you have to wait in.

Go out anyway. surely he can pick it up without you. If he comes when you are out then just send a cheque in the post if he needs paying and say you had to go out as it was an emergency.

Unless the skip is in the back garden I would go out and do what you need to.

Skips are usually on the street, so unless he cant access it you can go out.

Ring the company and advise them, if he is not at your home in the next half hour you will not be available. Then it is there problem to deal with.
