We just moved into our new house a month ago ...

There has been a terrible smell upstairs, and I have tracked it down to the drain in the floor of our master bath.

Is it okay to put bleach down to cut the smell? Or is there something else I can do myself with out having to ring a plumber

PLEASE ADVISE!!!! Thanks for any / all advice on this matter

I was wondering why the former owners lit flowery candles during all the open for inspections.... Now I know!

I have these metal leaf-shaped pieces, and I want them to rust. I've been soaking them in water for about a week, but it's not helping much. Is there anything else I can do to speed up the process, or are there any products that will actually make metal rust?

I rent an apartment and just recently I some mushrooms began to spring up in front of our hall closet. There have never been any spills or leaks there that I am aware of. I contacted my landlady and she didnt act like ti was a big concern. The mushrooms died and went away after a couple of days, after we carefully killed and removed them (we didnt want to spread spores).
A few days later a TON more mushrooms sprang up. I'm figuring there's a leak. I know that I couldn't have removed all the spores, so if there's a leak or excess moisture then more mushrooms are to be expected.
I've tried contacting my landlady again. She has not replied. I really feel that this is her department, since it is a precondition, and not due to our tenancy. For the time being, what can I do to get rid of the mushrooms? Is there a possibility of health risks? I have a baby in the house too, and it is very difficult to keep her away from the contaminated area. What can I do?

I don't have much money, time or friends. What I do have plenty of though is cockroaches, trash and squalor.

I want to change many aspects of my life, but feel trapped....especially by the bugs that share my apartment.

When he first walked in he took his fingers and swept across the stove and then proceded to ask the same questions over and over. He was there for nearly three hours doing his inspection. Opening the refridgerator and asking me what cleaning supplies I used. Which must of not been good enough for him because he put a whole bag of cleaning supplies on my front porch. (I use Lysol/Bleach to wipe everything down and Bleach diluted with a little water to mop the floors with and some kind of cleaning supply to clean the inside of the toilet with.) Yes he even lifted my toilet seat up and inspected it. He got on all fours and checked all the floors in the house. He has been our house numerous times and it has never been messy once. I was wondering if there is something that I could do or is this ok for him to do? He said he was going to do this every month and it doesn't say anything in the lease about him doing this. I work third shift and he kept me up the entire time he was there. HELP!

I am seeking some help on my washing machine.

The water just keeps infuse and won't stop; and it would not start washing either. If I turn the knob to SPIN, I seem to be able to force it start spinning, however, I notice there is water leak from the bottom.

Anyone know what might be the problem? Thank you so much.

I have used alot of cans of Raid ant and roach spray and it works great on contact but the roaches just seem to keep coming back. I've gone through cans and cans and I just want something that will work. I tried Bengal the orginal formula along time ago in a trailer that was mega infested and the roaches came out by the hundreds! GROSS! Is there something better?

My mother and step father just purchased a house in Appleton, WI. They have many questions about the original layout and materials used to build their house. They want to know what lies under all the paint and plaster. I would like to find out information or blueprints on the house for them so they can decide if they want to go ahead and change some of the interior architectures to either reflect the past history of the home, or make modern-day changes. If you have any information where I can find blueprints for their house please respond. Thank you.

I have a new acrylic tub and acrylic shower wall. The tub is somewhat flexible and the new construction lumber has probably not settled into place yet so when filling the tub, a lot of stress is put on the caulking. Acrylic caulk cracks and silicone caulk has pulled away. I've tried caulking this thing 4-5 times now but I'm still having trouble. Is there a better option or technique for a flexible joint? How about that caulking tape stuff?

thats cheap? my parents refuse to belive that if i kneal down on the carpets here, i get the smell all over me. and they just yell at me whenever i tell them we need to get rid of it. its gotton to the point, that if my clothes even touch my floor i put them in the dirty clothes pile! its all my grandmas dogs fault! no matter how much we let her out, she still pees and poops in the house and gives us an evil look while doing it too!
