Help! I forgot that my cutlery was still sitting in a basin full of soapy water over the weekend and now I find some rusty portions. How can I clean this out?

Get some fine steel wool from a hardward store. Make it 000 grit. Use some kitchen oil or a 3-n-1 oil. Gently use the steel wool to remove the rust. You should take your time and only go from the handle down towards the point. This should do it. Be careful not to cut the steel wool or yourself. Take your time and Good luck.

You could try chrome polish. If that didn't work and the cutlery was mine-in the trash it goes and get some new cutlery.

Try a very fine weight steel wool under water. You can usually pick it up at your local hardware store.

Next time, don't soak your knives, wash them right away, then you won't have this problem.

I learned the hard way too.

Think of it as a really good opportunity to get that nice set you've always covetted.

Whatever happened to STAINLESS STEEL? I thought it was never supposed to rust?

soak it in something that is a little acidy, vinegar, bleach, coke, orange juice, use pumice power or very very fine steel wool and .... DON'T SOAK CUTLERY - wash it right away and dry it right away.

Throw it away and go get a nice new more expensive set.
They got ruined because they were cheap anyway.
