When I bought my basement flat 2.5 yrs ago the surveyor suggested that there might be a dampness problem and I arranged for a specialist to inspect the property. The report he produced stated that there was no evidence of damp in the flat - only slight condensation. I always suspected that there was indeed a problem and now, whilst having some minor work carried out on the flat, the builder tells me that his damp meter records a reading of 100% on the walls of the flat. This can't just have happened in 2.5 years - do I have any legal recourse?

I know the answer to this question. I just want to see how many of you "electricians" get this right. I will vote best answer to the one that gets it right, so keep checking back.

Power is out to a house:
The electric company has already checked meter and says it is ok.
You check voltage at meter and get 120 from each hot leg to neutral and 240 between hot legs. You get the same reading inside at the main breaker with all other breakers off. You turn on single pole breakers on one at a time. Every other breaker you turn on has no affect on voltage. But the other breakers when turned on takes the voltage to 0 on that leg and puts 240 volts to the other leg. Also no 240 volt appliances work in the house. Where is the problem exactly, be specific.

Okay, don't get me wrong - I DO clean ;-) I just have a heck of a time sticking with it & not feeling like I'm being tortured while I do it. I do play upbeat music....have tried timing myself by the song, i.e. getting certain tasks done before a song is over...but none of it is working today. I NEED to get the house clean but I don't wanna. I know I'm going to have to turn this PC off for one thing ;-)
Anyway, any constructive ideas would be much appreciated!!!

We have a concrete patio area with a slight fall so that rainwater does not stand on it. However, a few weeks after cleaning green algae type growth appears and after a few months it requires jet washing again. The patio is in sunlight in the morning but shaded in the afternoon. The algae growth is worse underneath planters etc.

BESIDES picking them, is there a way to effectively get rid of crabgrass and clovers? please don't be stupid and say, just pull them. It just takes too much time and effort.
