Yes. They're deciduous. Depending on their variety, though, they may lose their leaves late if they've got plenty of water. Probably they'll bloom before they get leaves in the spring and then get leaves late. They usually get their leaves late and lose them late if conditions are optimal. Cherry trees need lots of water but also need good drainage. They can tolerate wet conditions and they can tolerate dry conditions, but if they go from really wet to really dry or if they go from a really dry spring into a really wet rainy spell they can go into shock and die. They can tolerate harsh conditions but not changing from one harsh condition to another.

Yes and I can't believe with all this hot weather we have had this summer the leaves are still on. We only had two cherries on our tree this year. Real sad. lol

In New England they do! They are deciduous. Even as far south as Washington D.C. It is always help full when asking these questions to give the general area where you live!

Yes, and mine in NC have already lost their leaves. It happens this time every year and just breaks my heart ... on the bright side, cherries bloom first, so I guess it's OK if they turn first too.
