Bermuda is an awful grass!! and looks horrid in the winter.. Scot ts makes a heat tolerant blue grass.. its new.. and its suppose to be nice looking in the winter too..

Bermuda is a great heat tolerant grass, but in extreme heat it will need alittle more water. Buffalograss is a great prairie grass that needs no mowing and very little water, but it is tough to get it from seed.

Hi. I live in zone 7b (MS) and Bermuda is a popular grass here. In the month of July we got less than an inch of rain all month and the temperatures ranged from 95 to 102 (that's without the heat index). My Bermuda came through it and still looks great =o).

I live in Oklahoma and Bermuda and Zoyzia are in my front and back yards (respectively). They do great. Bermuda needs to be watered more often than the Zoyzia.

where do you live? perhaps grass is not an appropriate ground cover if you experience long periods of heat and or drought.
