We have a concrete patio area with a slight fall so that rainwater does not stand on it. However, a few weeks after cleaning green algae type growth appears and after a few months it requires jet washing again. The patio is in sunlight in the morning but shaded in the afternoon. The algae growth is worse underneath planters etc.

Concrete is porous and holds moisture in the pores. Spray it with something to kill the algae and then seal it with a good sealer. this will stop the algae from coming back.

Between pressure washings you can use a bleach water solution of 3 cups ultra (concentrated) bleach to 1 gallon water. Dip your brush in solution and lightly scrub your patio area. Let sit for half an hour and rinse off with hose. I'd use gloves when in contact with the bleach water for safety.
