I read that phosphoric Acid, which is in pop such as Dr. Pepper, and Coca cola, is a good rust remover. I want to know if it is or not, and if there are any household items that can get rid of rust. Such as, on tools.

I recently burchased a older home that apears to be sinking. Is the seller liable? I can now see areas where they patched cracks that are starting to show through again and ive only lived here a month. There is also a crack under the carpet about 1/2 inch wide. Its a slab foundation.

Tried various different cleaning supplies & even sprayed it with clorox to kill bacteria. The next day it smells like urine again. It has to be coming from around or under the toilet, but no matter how much we clean it still smells. I replaced the toilet seal at least twice, thinking it was leaking, even let cleaning solutions and clorox soak overnight on the floor under the toilet & even removed it & left it off for a full day to air out. Nothing works! The smell is back within a day or 2 even if we don't use that toilet for a day. (We have 2 bathrooms.) The other bathroom doesn't have a problem, even if we wait a month or more between cleanings. We also tried an "ozone cleaner" with no luck.

Ok, so i'm totally new at taking care of plants, so I got a spider plant since people say it's the easiest to take care of. I read somewhere that they need some sun during the day and can't stay inside all day, so I put it out midmorning, and then completely forgot about it! I live in Phoenix, AZ, so it stayed out there for like 4 hours (before I finally remembered) in 110 degree heat. It's all droopy and brown now, but near the roots it's still green. What can I do to save it?

I'm worried about 2 bedroom doors that I've ordered. The widths of my existing doors are 30 3/4 inches, and 30 1/2 inches. The guy at the hardware store suggested that I go with a 30 inch widths for the new doors, and now I'm having doubts.

The space in between the frames (which I'm keeping) appears to be exactly 30 inches wide - is it necessary to have a little extra width on either side of the door, overlapping the frame? Should I change the order to go up to the next size (32 inch width) and shave the new doors down to match the existing ones, or will I really be O.K. with the 30 inch width for the new ones?

Thanks.

I planted a Hughes Junniper under my Canada Red Cherry tree. The nursery where I bought it told me it would grow to be approx. 5 ft by 7 ft. It is presently 14 ft by 21 ft. I want to prune it back about 2 ft all the way around. As you can imagine it is beginning to encroach on some of my other plants. I don't want to kill it. Before I start, does anyone have any advice for the best method of accomplishing this pruning successfully.

I went away for the weekend and when I came back my snake was dead. The smell was horrible. I have let my house air out for two days, but the smell is still in the wood.
