Ok, so i'm totally new at taking care of plants, so I got a spider plant since people say it's the easiest to take care of. I read somewhere that they need some sun during the day and can't stay inside all day, so I put it out midmorning, and then completely forgot about it! I live in Phoenix, AZ, so it stayed out there for like 4 hours (before I finally remembered) in 110 degree heat. It's all droopy and brown now, but near the roots it's still green. What can I do to save it?

Well, I'm afraid to say you have not done it any good. Cutting back the brown part may help and so should a good watering, but you can only hope!! Don't fertilize it until you read the information from the link below -- spider plants are a bit finicky about fertilizer. As to light, temperatures & such:

From Clemson Home & Garden Information:

"Spider plants grow best with bright indirect light. They can tolerate some direct sunlight, but midday light may scorch leaves.

Spider plants should dry out briefly between waterings. Check their soil daily. A general-purpose potting soil is suitable for spider plants. Feed plants during periods of active growth with a water-soluble or a time release houseplant fertilizer. Follow the label recommendations.

Temperatures between 65 and 75 ° F during the day and 50 to 55 °F at night are ideal. Move spider plants a few feet from windows to protect them from drafts during the winter."

Good luck -- I hope it comes back for you!!

Antonia My mom is an similar. She lives 60 miles from me and that i used to have tochronic there occassionally at the same time as she found one! 2 issues fixed the region on the instantaneous (a million) Conkers positioned around the room. (2) you should purchase "trojan horse Repellant" machines that merely plug into the mains and bypass over a noise they dont like (really found on the web) Mum hasnt considered a spider in 2 years

Cut it back, fertilize it....and don't do that again. Green plants like indirect sunlight. not direct 110 degree sunlight. Good luck.
