We had a home inspection today because we are selling our house. They found the furnace is leaking carbon monoxide (it's 28 yrs. old). We are having a guy come out tomorrow to do an estimate and it should be replaced by the end of the week. Will we be OK???

A piece of lumber scratched it and took off the suede/felt. Is there a repair kit you can buy at a hardware store? Its about 4 inches long, and I hate to call an upholstery place since they are a little expensive. Thanks.

me and my fiance just moved in to our new home. well we had the land cleared, before the house was built, and now we have no grass. we do not want to plant grass yet because of the heat, we do not want it to die. but it has been raining alot and our yard is one big mud hole! our shoes are getting ruined and so is the floor at our front door! what is an inexpensive way to fix our yard or at least keep the mud off of our feet so our shoes, house and cars will not get ruined?

Ok, my cat knocked over my raspberry crystal light drink yesterday and it has made this horrible red stain on my carpet. My husband and I have tried everything we can think of. We used our steam cleaner, run the SpotBot over it and cleaned it with OxyClean, but it still will not come out. Looking for any ideas or suggestions on how to get this stain out.

Please note that I am looking for reliable ideas, so please do not tell me to get rid of my carpet. Thank you.

I will have my things in storage for several months beginning in Sept. I will be storing mostly furniture and a mattress but also some electronics (TV, stereo, etc). I was planning to use PODS but it isn't climate controlled in this area and that has me a little worried about my things. Will this ruin my stuff?

Ever since I had someone come look at my trees and they told me ants and earwigs are a sign of a dying and stressed out tree, I am paranoid about ants. I see ants all over my trees. I have no problem with them, actually, I like the little things. Earwigs I hate! Are ants really a sign that your trees are doomed?

The style is-- seperate hot/cold taps and a sprayer on the side. I've been givin the tip to clean and shake the toggle that enables the water to divert to the spayer/tap. I'm not sure how to get the center column out after I take the cap off. Any help would be awesome.

I have a Western Holly Stove. I don't know the year, but I need to
find out. I have the model number: K47OLMX and the serial number:
3589. I have the BTU values: Oven- 24,000; Broiler- 18,000; Kindler-
9,000; Griddle- 9,000; and Heater 20,000. It uses wood and gas for
fuel. It has one oven on the right side and broiler underneath that.
On the left side it is the kindler and possibly storage. It would be
great to find out the eyar and model name so that I can find out if
anyone would like to purchase it.

I am moving house from London to Scotland and need to figure out the cheapest way to move all my stuff. I don't have masses of things, just clothes, bedding, books, small electrical items etc. Probably about 5-6 suitcases worth. I've thought about taking a few trips on the train, but that seems a bit silly. Might ask a friend to drive, but don't know if I can find a friend willing to drive all that way and back! Just wondered if anyone has had any expereince using companies that send your stuff for you, or hiring a man and a van etc. Or indeed, any other ideas??? Thanks very much!

I live in Florida and on some of the homes there are these units out near the A/C that heats the water by using the exhausted heat from the A/C and sends it in to the hot water tank. Does anyone know what these units are called and do they still make them?

Im thinking of opening a residental/commercial cleaning service because of my experience with local cleaning services in my area (they all seem to lack the personal touch and always seem to be in more of a hurry than getting the job done right). There are NO major franshises in my area. Should I go independent or buy into a franchise?

I just installed an above ground pool and need 4 feet of level ground around it. After quite a bit of excavating, I have my 4 feet, but I have a round wall of dirt I have to hold back. Is there a way to get this built without breaking my back or my bank account? Thanks!!
